Picture framing questions
A few of the questions I’m asked most often about framing at the studio. If yours isn’t here, just get in touch.
How much does framing cost? Every piece is different, so I quote individually once I’ve seen the work and we’ve talked through the options.
How long does it take? Usually three to four weeks from when the work is booked in.
How do I book? Pop into the studio at the Needlemakers, Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, or get in touch to arrange a Saturday appointment. You can also send photos and rough sizes in advance using the form below.
Is there a deposit? Yes. Work is booked into the workshop once a 50% deposit is paid, with the balance due on completion.
What can you frame? Photographs, prints, paintings, drawings, textiles, objects and more unusual pieces. If you’re not sure, bring it in and we can talk it through.
Can you print my photographs too? Yes. I make fine art prints in the studio, so I can print from your digital file and frame it.
❋ What I frame
I frame a wide range of work, including photographs, editioned prints, paintings, drawings, works on paper, textiles, family photographs, keepsakes, children’s artwork, found objects, fragile pieces and artworks for exhibitions, homes and interiors.
❋ Materials & finish
I work with carefully chosen materials, including hardwood mouldings, conservation mountboard, spacers, floating mounts, box frames and specialist glazing.
Where needed, I can advise on UV protective glass, anti-reflective glass, deeper frames, object supports and other options to help preserve and present the work properly.
The aim is always the same: to make something that feels quietly right for the piece.

You are welcome to bring the work in, or send images and approximate dimensions beforehand. I can then talk through suitable options, materials, timescales and pricing.
