Picture framing from an artist’s studio in Lewes

I offer a careful, bespoke picture framing service from my studio in the Needlemakers, Lewes, working with photographs, prints, paintings, drawings, textiles, objects and more unusual pieces that need a considered approach.

As an artist and picture framer, I see framing as more than a finishing process. It is the point where a work is held, protected and given the space it needs to be properly seen. A good frame should never overwhelm the piece. It should support it quietly — through proportion, material, depth, colour and finish.

Each frame is made around the work itself. Sometimes that means a simple hardwood frame and conservation mount. Sometimes it means a floating mount, a deeper box frame, specialist glazing, or a more complex structure for fragile, dimensional or irregular pieces.

Because I make, print and exhibit work myself, I understand how personal these decisions can be. Framing is practical, but it is also about care: respecting the artwork, the person who made it, and the place it will live.
